In honor of Shark Week on Discovery Channel, we are giving you the 5 best non-Jaws movies to watch.  The Discovery Channel has given you an educational and a realistic understanding of the shark, so now it’s time for some fear! Of course your chance of getting attacked in real life by a shark is pretty slim. Considering that more than 200 million people visit U.S. beaches each year, the number of shark attacks is relatively small. Of those millions of beach goers each year, about 36 are attacked by sharks, while more than 30,000 need to be rescued from surfing accidents.  But forget those silly old stats and enjoy Hollywood’s take on the shark.

Deep Blue Sea

Searching for a cure to Alzheimer’s disease a group of scientists on an isolated research facility become the bait as a trio of intelligent sharks fight back.

Open Water

When two divers find themselves stranded in the ocean, getting rescued becomes the least of their worries when a frenzy of hungry sharks close in on them.

The Reef

A great white shark hunts the crew of a capsized sailboat along the Great Barrier Reef.

Bait

A freak tsunami traps shoppers at a coastal Australian supermarket inside the building – along with 12-foot Great White Sharks.

Sharknado

When a freak hurricane swamps Los Angeles, nature’s deadliest killer rules sea, land, and air as thousands of sharks terrorize the waterlogged populace.
