Get Kids to Eat Just About Any Food On a Stick

Through the years my kids have at times been picky eaters (that’s putting it nicely).  One trick that I have come up with that seems to work pretty well is taking a lollipop stick (can be purchased at craft stores such as Michael’s or Joannes) and putting the food on there.  The first time I ever tried it I made a kabob of sorts, alternating bananas and strawberries on the stick.  I handed them over to my daughter asking her “Do you want a banana strawberry pop?”  She instantly said yes and ate it right up in a matter of seconds.  Keep in mind that only 5 minutes prior to that she wouldn’t eat the strawberries or bananas cut up by themselves on a plate.

So as time went on I began to test this method with other foods.  Here’s some other food ideas that you can use with the lollipop sticks:

1. Cubed cheese and Turkey/Ham

2. Hard Boiled Eggs

3. Apples and Grapes

4. Kiwi and Strawberry

Pretty much you can put any combination you want and try serving to your kids.  I do recommend calling the item some sort of “pop” or “lollipop”.  Psychologically I think it makes it sound good to your child.
